Artiste peintre, illustrateur pour la jeunesse. Epoux de Beatrice FOX-MALLET à qui il donne son nom d’artiste.

Hervé Maurice Mallet, né à Paris 14e le 2 mai 1895, fils de Hervé Emile Alexandre Mallet, âgé de 34 ans, employé et de Aimée Darré, âgée de 30 ans. Décédé accidentellement (hydrocution) à Mériel (Val d’Oise) le 10 septembre 1939.

Epouse Beatrice Fox, le 24 avril 1919 à Long Eaton (Derbyshire, Angleterre).

Hervé MALLET, Expose au Salon des Humoristes. A illustré plusieurs livres pour enfants. A collaboré, avec Raymond Petit, rédacteur au Figaro, critique littéraire et auteur de livres pour l’enfance, aux albums Jacqueline et son chien Pataud et Pataud le chien à la campagne, éditions Gautier-Languereau, 1930–1931. Les impayables aventures de Jacqueline et de son bébé chien qui part à la découverte du monde, dans un style BD, mais sans bulle. Collabore avec Le Pèlerin, année 1931. A illustré en collaboration avec Beatrice Mallet, son épouse, A.B.C. J'apprends à lire avec Blanche-Neige, sur des textes de Melle S. Poret, institutrice, dont un dessin signé en commun, Gordinne, vers 1935. Bab et Babou dans la stratosphère, Chagor, 1936 - Le professeur Brique en mission (bd), (id), Bobinette (bd), Nig... s'en va-t'à la pêche, Gordinne, 1937. Un album à colorier chez Gordinne en 1937. Signe du pseudonyme P.A.M. chez l'éditeur GANI, une série de cartes postales mettant en scène uniquement des chiens, longtemps attribué par erreur à Beatrice Mallet. Les Voyages de Gulliver en 1939, présente un cas particulier : sur la page de couverture est notée "Illustrations de B. et H. Mallet", alors que toutes les illustrations sont signées Béatrice Mallet (œuvre inachevée, peut-être due à son décès prématuré, reprise par Beatrice seule).

Gulliver's Travels in 1939, presents a special case: on the cover page is marked "Illustrations of B. and H. Mallet," while all the illustrations are signed Beatrice Mallet (unfinished, perhaps due to his death premature resumption by Beatrice alone).
